The Other Side

Our plane chairs.

In about 24 hours we’ll be on a plane. The plane will take us to the other side of the world. Looking and walking and painful, awkward, translingual conversations with complete strangers will ensue. We will soak up everything that’s different. There will be no work, no web, no email, no RSS. If I’m lucky then no one will curse at me in Italian because I’m 12 and I didn’t realize that wearing your hat into a cathedral is an affront to the almighty. Excessive mayonnaise will probably be carefully scraped from something we eat. Photos will be taken. Notes will be taken. I will read my book. She will read hers. We will be back on this side much too soon.

[Also: I tried to resist mentioning the unmitigated awesomeness that are our plane chairs but I just can’t help myself. Would you look at that thing? It’s huge!]
